Piramis Építőház is a building material store with one of the largest stocks in Pest county. They realised that online sales along with their regular channels will be the generator of their growth. The aim of the project wasn’t only an alternative way to find new customers but to start a country wide delivery service of which they hoped for a significant amount of revenue. 

We quickly went from developing a personal online store to a project that needed an all-round e-commerce service.

The result is Épitőanyag.hu,where one can find everything they need for building or remodelling.

Business planning and digital strategy

The first team of experts working on this digital transformation project was our strategic partner, the Smart Commerce Consulting. They guided our client on a journey from planning a digital sales channel to developing their digital business strategy. In preparation they gathered existing business information and business models on the market to create a sales and marketing strategy and develop a financial plan for the company. As a result of their work our client received a deliberate, measurable and sustainable guide to accomplish their business goals.

Design and user experience

The company’s online brand identity and the user journeys were developed by Product Design, Virgo’s designer team.

Challenges

During the development process the greatest challenge was the designing and developing of the logistic modul. The logistical processes had to be optimized for products that require unique transportation methods based on their size or weight.

When choosing the shipment method the system analyses the product types found in the basket and offers different options. Then it’s up to the customers to decide if they’d like a faster or a more price efficient delivery. On top of all of this, there’s an option to get a price quote for an individual shipment method, when the employees investigate possible ways to deliver the order and send the most efficient price quote to the customer for approval.
